Myett Ann Pangilinan Acosta – CSR & Administrative Assistance

myett-ann-pangilinan-portraitLet me start with my name, I am Myett Ann P. Acosta, but please call me Ann. Most of my experience is related to customer service. I experienced working at a Water Refilling Station as a manager and financial advisor at an Insurance company.

I have been in the BPO industry for 9 years now. During my tenure in the call center, I did not only enhance my customer service skills, but I also acquired other skills like Technical Support. I am also blessed to be associated with HSBC, Capital One, American Express, and Paypal. I mostly handle a Financial account, so integrity is really important and thankfully, it is something that is already innate in me. I think it’s one of the most critical attitudes that a VA should have since you will be working away from your client and they cannot check on you from time to time.

The most recent experience I have gained is working as a Virtual Assistant in Real Estate. It’s something new for me, yes, but I am willing to learn more and grasp more knowledge as I continue my journey. I have this “I can and I will” attitude towards life so this is something that I can use and prove right now. Now I can see and feel a big difference in me. Before, anything that is technology related got the better of me. But now, even though this new role is challenging, myett-ann-pangilinan-carI have learned to have a growth attitude inspired by grit mindset. I am positive that I will keep on improving in my chosen field.

I am 38 years old and a single mum. I am happy in life. We are living with my extended family which is alright since the more the merrier and more is always better. I am blessed to have 2 kids; my eldest is 21 years old and my youngest is turning 14. Wow, time flies indeed, it reminded me that my kids are no longer kids. One is an adult and the other is already a teen!. That line made me realise how old I am already. But that is completely fine and I am not afraid of growing old since I do have my kids with me. The only fear probably that I have is losing them. I can’t imagine my life without them.

People call me by different names. My relatives, childhood friends and neighbors call me “Yet”. My college friends, however, they call me “Mia”. And during my call center years and in the VA world, I am called “Ann”. You can call me whatever you want, it’s up to you. I am the kind of person that is full of happiness in my heart with a positive attitude in life. I always see and try to look for a blessing no matter how ugly the situation is. I always look at my blessings by merely looking at others and seeing how grateful they are that I am alive!

During my off days, I want to have a long drive where I can see nature and greenery, something that will make me relax. I want the wind blowing my hair and the sun rays touching my face. Windows down and just singing along with whatever 80’s or 90’s or 2000’s song is playing. Then grab a cold bottle of beer with pizza or barbecue or anything grilled, sit by the shore and just feel relaxed with the natural sound of the waves and the laughter of people around me. That is my ideal getaway, however, I can only make that happen realistically once every 4-6 months, maybe. So in reality, during my free time, I drink with my siblings and sometimes with my friends at our garage and grill some meat and hotdogs and that’s it.

I am a simple woman, with a simple dream in life. I know I will get that dream of mine with a smile on my face.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Have a great day! 🙂
