Roejean Escabalon – Customer Service Representative, Chat Moderator

Hi, I am Roejean Escabalon, you can call me Jean. I am a mother of 3 and I am a single mom. I studied Bachelor of Secondary Education but unfortunately, I didn’t graduate from the course due to financial problems. As an Undergraduate, I can say that I have fewer job opportunities.

I worked as a sales staff and a cashier in a Bakery Shop before with a very low salary rate. Without any choice, I have to work for it rather than starve my kids. The next opportunity was working as a Chat Support Assistant in an online dating app. I find it hard as I am not used to working on that kind of platform. On that dating site, I have to entertain foreign people and give them satisfaction. I quit the job because it doesn’t have a competitive salary. I also found another job as a Customer Service Representative and Secretary, at first it was fine but as days went by I noticed that my boss was abusing my performance maybe because I just worked hard for a very low salary and he didn’t hear anything bad from me. It seemed that I was being a slave by working hard and receiving non-competitive compensation. But still, I remain a good and obedient worker.

When I learned about remote-type jobs, I worked harder to buy my laptop so that I can be able to find a job online. The main reason that I want to work in an Online Setup, is because it will allow me to balance my responsibilities with my kids and with my work. Working from home is such a great opportunity for single moms like me. I will be so happy if I am given a chance to be part of the remote job community. Unfortunately, I’ve been looking for a job for almost 2 months already but still didn’t get a response from any of those I have applied.

I will never give up and will still continue looking for online jobs that can be the best fit for my skills and abilities. I want to learn new things from being part of a new environment, looking forward to seeing myself being a successful Virtual Assistant 5 years from now. When the time is right I know that things that are for me will come.
