Rojie May Cudal – General Virtual Assistant, IT Support
Hi, I am Rojie May Cudal, you can call me Rojie. I am a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in
Information Technology and the eldest daughter or the family. Part of being an eldest is being the breadwinner of the family. Due to being a product of broken family, I need to provide something in order to survive.
Currently I am working as a Virtual Assistant for almost 3 years, and it gives me the opportunity to showcase my skills and ability, it helps me to practice my resourcefulness and work independently. I acquire knowledge and showcase my skills that benefits the company. Offering my abilities that helps the growth of the organisation and will be able to enhance more my learnings. Working from home for almost 3 years also challenges my life, but I believe on the path that I choose. I consider myself lucky for this kind of opportunity. I learn a lot of things being a team player, helping my clients on a certain task that gives them satisfaction, and they appreciate the help that you provide. Working with them is like I’m working with a friend with a different language; we share stories about life, and we both communicate well in terms of work and personal life.
I am really thankful and grateful of what I have now. I really appreciate what my life has been through. Being a breadwinner is not easy. There are things you want to but you can’t have because you choose your family over anything else. I know I will not be here if I’m not strong enough to handle the situation. I never take it as a negative part of my life but rather than being a positive. I always look on the bright side that being a responsible daughter gives you more blessings. I just realised that life is not always full of happiness we need to accept different emotions and accept the fact that, at the end of the day, you are still lucky of what you have.
In this chapter I may have some realisations, like sometimes I question myself if I deserve this situation or why should I experience this hardships. I just remember a quote that “God gives the hardest battle to the strongest soldiers.” The time I think carefully, maybe God give this to me because he know I am capable to survive this battle.
