Stephanie Ann Agunos – Accounting Specialist

Hi, I’m Stephanie Ann. My friends call me Steph.

Apart from being an Accountant, I am a loving Mum and a Korean romcom series fanatic. 🙂

I grew up in the province, in a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone. Although we were not rich, I had a happy childhood. Growing up in the 80’s, as a child, I enjoyed playing Filipino street games with friends and watching Japanese animes. I was the eldest in the family and my grandmother’s favorite.

As a student, I was a consistent honour student from grade school to high school. I actively participated in declamation contests and science and math quiz bees. I was lucky to represent my high school in various academic competitions. I finished high school with flying colors as 4th honours of the graduating class.

I graduated college with Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the Philippine School of Business Administration Manila. I took the CPA board exam a few months after college, but unfortunately I didn’t make it. As the eldest child, I was expected to help my family. I became a breadwinner when my dad lost his job. I started my career as a banker, but the salary was only enough to cover my daily expenses. So, I decided to work in Dubai to help my parents with sending my younger brothers to college. I worked in Dubai for four years and I learned a lot about interacting with different nationalities, handling work pressure and multitasking.

I have pursued my field of study again and have worked for BPO companies in Manila. I have 3 years of accounting experience, specialising in accounts payable and accounts receivable. My major achievement in my previous role as a Junior Accountant is that as a result of my excellent performance, the client in Australia has expanded and planned to add two more remote employees in my previous BPO company.

I consider myself as highly organised, reliable and self-driven. I’m in constant pursuit of the better version of myself as an Accountant and as a Mum. My son is my greatest blessing and he is the reason why I persevere in life now. My dream is to provide him with a comfortable life and to raise him as a kind, loving and trustworthy person.
