Uche Umeh – Social Media Management
My name is Uche Umeh, a Nigerian based in Cebu City, Philippines. I have a bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology which I studied in Nigeria for four years. Presently, I’m studying medicine and surgery at the University of the Visayas, Gullas medical college Philippines.
I see myself as a great addition to any team because I’m efficient, hardworking, always willing to learn, and make corrections. I pride myself in meeting deadlines and giving my client the value they paid for. An opportunity to work with you is room to learn and expand my horizon while getting the job done.
I’m the second out of six children and my mum prides herself in her girls and always never ceases to remind us how happy she is of how we turned out as women. I grew up as a locked-in child and mostly used my hands so I’m also a certified makeup artist. Entering the Philippine makeup industry didn’t work out for me as a black girl among so many whites – getting gigs was almost impossible. So I went back to being an assistant, but this time virtually. I helped my client by fixing appointments, organising calendars, replying to emails, and any other thing they required that I could do or learn to do.
Fast forward to 2020 when corona hit, I realised I needed to step up so I took a social media manager course and training. I learned how to promote ads, plan and schedule posts, content creation, and graphic design using Canva. Most of the jobs I’ve taken on are mostly contract jobs so I help my client achieve a goal within a set period of time.
Growing up, we were always taught to always learn a skill and find out how to fix a problem as an entrepreneur. This has made me learn how to multi-task efficiently and working remotely makes this a lot easier. I feel that that’s what laid the base for my love for service. It comes from my willingness to always learn and expand. I follow up to know how to upgrade my skills and get better so I can serve my clients better. Knowing how to improve and becoming better is one of the things that improved my skills.
It’s really important for me to leave people way happier than I met them, and this includes my clients…
A happy client is a happy life.
