Angelica Diamse – Medical Biller, Executive Assistant

I’m Angelica, but some people call me Lyka. During my childhood, I was very active in different extracurricular activities that included singing and dancing, and I was very happy back then since my parents were also supportive, but not until they decided to separate. Being an only child, I have accepted the role of independence and have navigated life’s maze with a spirit that is both unwavering and uncompromising. Nevertheless, in the gloom of my existence, I developed a resilience that comes with hardship. I discovered how to treasure the brief moments of companionship and draw courage from the isolation that moulded my path. I found the strength of my own fortitude in the furnace of my isolation, a ray of optimism that helped me get over the hard waters of parting.

I’m a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology program in 2016 at Holy Cross of Davao College, Inc. I started working as an accounting associate for a family-owned construction company, dealing with clients’ accounts, billings, and collection of checks. However, as time went by, I realised that I needed to explore more and check for other companies that could bring out the best in me. I started my BPO journey right after my first work as an administrator, HR, and small accounting tasks. I was able to assist Australian and American clients during those times. Since I was not able to practice my communication skills through speaking, I also tried customer service, which helped me a lot.

I began working in a new BPO environment that, while completely unrelated, helped me learn a lot about a completely different profession. That’s why I became a medical biller and then a team leader. With MCD, hospice, private, and triple checks for both MCR and HMO billing methods, I successfully oversee six (6) skilled Nursing/Nursing Home facilities. In addition to overseeing two medical billers and two billing assistants, I also lead the training sessions during the duration of the shift. This expertise, combined with my strong billing and leadership skills, has equipped me to seize any opportunity.

When dealing with the difficulties that come with working remotely, flexibility stands out as a key quality. My proactive approach allows for quick adjustments to changing conditions with the least amount of downtime for operations. When it comes to resolving technical problems or quickly responding to changing priorities, I demonstrate resilience and agility in negotiating the dynamics of remote work.
