Angelica Loren Reyes – Technical Support Specialist, Customer Service Representative

Hi, I’m Angelica Loren Reyes, a graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Management. I’m from Aklan. I’m the eldest of the siblings. Some say that I’m the breadwinner in the family, but for me, it’s more like my way of giving back to my parents.  Our life is not that easy like the others but my parents put all the effort and sacrifices to support our studies, especially since me and my brother are both in a private school.

After I graduated, I was blessed to have my first job right away with one of the hotels in our town where I had my on job training. I was able to somehow start providing the needs of my family. I’m also able to provide for my brother’s college education.

As an HRM graduate, my hobbies are cooking, planning and organising events. I love cooking for my family, especially with their favourite dishes. I also love having some surprises or preparations on their special days like birthdays and anniversaries, which I think is one of my love languages, the act of service.

I’m not really that expressive in words but it’s more with my actions and efforts. With all the hopes and desires that I have are for my family; give them a better life, be able to provide for their needs and wants, and also have this hope that I can also be a blessing to other people, I am able to help even just in a simple way. My family is my strength and also my weakness. They’re the reason behind all my efforts and sacrifices. I feel weak every time I see them not ok but it also gives me the motivation to strive even more. Losing my family is my greatest fear but I know and believe that God will not just let that happen. I know that in my waiting season, God will give me the desires of my heart.

To also share with my other work experiences, I’ve been with the BPO industry for almost 4 years. Had my first experience as a customer representative with Comcast, where we dealt with billing concerns, basic troubleshooting for mobile devices and upselling. The next account I worked for was with PayPal, a financial account handling customers’ concerns about sending and receiving payments and disputes. Also, I was up-skilled in handling and resolving account limitations or restrictions. The next one is with Verizon as technical support for both mobile phones and home internet, aside from that I also handle billing concerns and even do sales. I recently worked as an Executive Assistant with a US client. Scheduling, bookings, and ordering online transactions are my duties and responsibilities as an Executive Assistant.

With the task or responsibilities given, I made sure that I was able to have it all done on time as needed or ahead of time. I organise the task needed as soon as possible to the one that is not that urgent, depending on the due date of submission or report.  I also make sure that I’m open enough to communicate and coordinate with the lead and colleagues that I may work with for their opinions and advice for me to work more efficiently. I’m also open to any opportunities that need to develop that may also be my strength to grow in the industry.
