Frea Agwaking – Administrative Assistant, Real Estate

My name is Frea Agwaking, I am 28 years old, single, and have no kids. I am the first born of 8 siblings. My parents are labourers. They got married when they were really young. Due to the pandemic they don’t have any income at this moment so I am applying for work to change the situation at home. I am supporting my siblings who are studying. My two sisters next to me and the third child are already married as of this year.

I grew up in the mountains. I am originally from Mountain Province. Our little community is surrounded by mountains. We have rivers where we taught ourselves to swim. Got drowned a few times when we were little, but I think everyone who has taught themselves to swim experienced being drowned! Our community is really small so everybody knows everyone. It also has the disadvantage since everyone knows everybody, they also know every snippet of gossip. Upside is as it’s a small community everyone helps each other.

We got our daily living from the super small field that we have. We plant rice in the field but we don’t sell it or export because there’s only enough for family consumption. That is the hard life, but fun life in the province. I am located now in Baguio City where there’s more opportunities for a small town girl like me. I am paying rent, and other bills.

I maybe single with no kids but I have responsibilities at home. Some friends told me that I work like a carabao even though I don’t have my own family! I told them I am the first born with responsibilities. You can find me playing online games to pass the time. I am also fond of nature. We usually go out to hike with friends and make funny poses and post them on our group chat, then make fun of each other’s poses. Due to the bad weather, we can’t go out and have fun so we are just playing online games. At times, when we get our salary, we treat ourselves to a nice meal at a nice restaurant. We do it at least once every two months.

I graduated in IT. I joined the parade band in our school to zero out my school fees because my parents couldn’t provide the money for college. My sisters and I were all in college at the same time during my four years in college, so we had to take on part time jobs to pay for some books and other fees as well.

After graduation I applied to a lot of companies. I sent out sample drafts of websites to a lot of companies but they were looking for experienced applicants. I applied as a customer service representative and was hired for AT&T Billing and Sales department. This was my first job. I moved to a new location so I then applied as a customer service representative for eBay. Now, I am already outdated as an IT Specialist. Technology is growing fast and I was left behind with all of the continuous updates going on.

I then applied as a virtual assistant at REAssist and handled Ray White / LJ Hooker clients for Property Management and General Admin tasks. Due to the pandemic the clients disengaged and the company had to let us go. I applied to a lot of project based company like Barbizon. I was an appointment setter for talents to join an online Zoom interview with a talent director. I was also an appointment setter for EveryAgent where I called Real Estate Agents and set an appointment to go and visit the apartment if they had suitable buyers. We sold Obsidian Apartment in Teneriffe and they had me help a colleague to sell Utopia apartments.

I was also a General Virtual Assistant for an American client for a short while to enter all his leads into their CRM.

And here I am now hoping you’ll consider me for a full time job. 🙂
