Jamheel De Jesus – CSR and Administrative Assistant

jamheel-de-jesus-csrI have been working as a BPO employee for almost 10 years. I have mainly handled different types of customers, people of different race, and different attitudes which has made me who I am today. I have handled customers for an Australian Telecommunication Company that provides Internet Service for small and medium business. I dealt with their Provisioning team which basically works as the back office support dealing with after sales customers. The process begins from ordering to wholesalers right through to making sure the service is delivered to the customer’s address. I have also handled technical support. So if a customer has issues with the newly installed or existing service then I provide one on one troubleshooting to get the issue fixed. So making inbound / outbound calls has been my entree and main meal… and email management my dessert!

The earlier half of my employment was with a US account – also an Internet and cable service provider. I started as technical support staff specifically for one skill, but my ability to quickly learn and excel in the position made my supervisors think of cross training me for a different line of business. This promotion enhanced more of my skills and I am very thankful for it.

On a personal note, I am 31 years old and a Mum to 3 wonderful kids. My kids are my treasure which makes me more diligent and hardworking in my job. I make it a point to always treat everyone as my family. I am very considerate and have strong faith in my abilities, and believe in myself.

Being an only child from a broken home I want my kid’s life to be different. I strive to work hard and earn money and be near them. Life here in the Philippines is not always easy; things can get rough and in those times, parents decide to leave their families and work abroad just to earn enough to provide for the family. But I want life to be a different way – as life is not always about money. Life is about giving and making sure that you are always there for your loved ones… Those baby steps and those first few words really matter to a mother who brought them into this world. And of course, the world is not perfect and we have to make the most of what we can.

I have decided to leave my corporate work and risk getting a home based client. My major reasoning is that I want to be near my family while building my career. Nothing is easy but nothing is impossible! As long we believe in our capabilities we can soar high. The reason I am saying this is because I want you to know that I will forever cherish the opportunity given to me to work for you, as you will become a part of my family. You will be another reason for me to say that I can do this and I can provide more. Being a Mum brings out the best and the worst in you, which I can definitely use in terms of dealing with customers!

Life has taught me to be brave and how to handle situations calmly. I am applying this maturity to my work. I can work under pressure yet provide great results. I set goals and make sure to always meet them and complete tasks assigned. And lastly I treat my job as a ‘family duty’, which makes it easier because I come to love what I do. I make sure that I do what makes my ‘family’ happy – which is exceeding expectations and providing the best quality of work.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and it is my pleasure to provide a sneak peak of my life. We are just starting out, and I am looking forward to a long-term partnership with you.
