Jona Anacio – Senior Category Buyer

Greetings, my name is Jona Anacio, a Filipina aspirant Virtual Assistant. I’ve heard of freelancing before, but I’m not sure what jobs are available. When one of my coworkers told me that the majority of her friends were switching to VA and Freelancing jobs, I was intrigued. She also gave me an idea of what type of employment that VA world may provide. What really caught my ears was when she explained that the majority of VAs work from home. Because of my friend’s sharing, I was simply dreaming about having that kind of work set up at the time, and I said to myself, “This is it.”.

On the same day, I began researching and learning about the VA services in order to gain more knowledge. Knowing that there are many VA jobs available, I also need to understand myself, what I can provide to my prospective clients or what is my “NICHE” is. While I am profoundly involved in this type of work, I also realised that the scope of work can be overwhelming. I then began my journey as a potential VA. I watched various videos, joined groups that could help me learn more about the cultures of VA and even enrolled in free and paid tutorials to help me prepare for these types of jobs. They all provide me with a lot of insight about what to expect and give me a sense of control or reassurance when you’re already working with a VA. Of course, there are some tutorials that don’t correspond with my objectives. However, I still consider it a learning experience because it provides me with ideas for services and tools that can be useful. I’m aware that if I ever become a VA, there will be requirements that I must meet:

– Designated well-lighted workspace

– PC or Laptop with required specs needed

– Working graveyard since most of the clients are foreign

– Strong Internet connection

As an aspiring Virtual Assistant, I am fortunate in that I am well-prepared. I’m aware that I’m a rookie in this field. I can tell, too, that my previous work experience is not significantly different from several of the VA job offers. I’m pleased to say that I can accomplish this job like a pro. I am optimistic that with my great communication and leadership skills, as well as a good attitude toward work, I will be able to succeed in my profession and I challenge myself to never stop learning and improving so that I can provide greater service to my clients.
