Kimberly Leyva – Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeping

Kimberly-Leyva-vaHello, I am Kimberly Claire O. Leyva from Cebu City. I am a 4th year accounting student at the University of San Carlos. I belong to a family of 6 and I am the 2nd child. I’ve been balancing my time when it comes to work and my academic life. Working in the industry that I’ve been studying made it really easier for me to understand more about different aspects of accounting.

I am currently working as an accounting assistant in a clinic. But right now I am at the point of life wherein I want to explore more about this field and grow as a person. I’ve also gained experience in TransAsia Shipping Lines Incorporated (TASLI), a shipping line located in Cebu City, Philippines. I was assigned to different departments such as the Finance department, Accounts Payable department, Inventory department, and the accounts receivable department.

During my work experience in TranAsia Shipping Lines Incorporated the things that I’ve done were:

  • Track the accounts payable transaction
  • On site inventory check up in the ships
  • Was able to track accounts receivables
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Preparing Financial Statements
  • Payroll

Kimberly-Leyva-vaI also was a bookkeeper and cashier at the Big Bad Wolf, when they came to the Philippines. I can say that my experiences molded me to become the person I am today and it helped me gain more knowledge. I am very meticulous when it comes to details. I tend to observe the transactions well. I am very hard working and resourceful. I tend to find ways whenever a problem will occur. I value my principles and also the company’s principles and how they view things. I am good at socializing and engaging with people. I tend to understand how and what they want. I am also open to any opinions and criticism because I believe that it will help me improve myself as a person. I can also work under pressure. I am also very persistent and get the work done in a professional manner.

Being in the field of accounting may be hard and tiring but in the end, the feeling is so satisfying when you achieve your goal and the goal of your clients.
And that concludes my experiences and how I am as a person, and with that, I believe that I will be a valuable asset to your company.
