Ma. Criselda de Lara – Recruiter/Onboarding Specialist
Good day! I am Ma. Criselda de Lara. You may call me Cris. I am 28 years old and I’m a triplet! I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Our Lady of Fatima University. I have been working from home since the Pandemic in 2020, and I consider it as one of the best things that I have ever got from being employed since 2016. I never knew that working from home could be so fulfilling, exciting, and beneficial to me!
I started working as a sourcing and recruitment specialist for a recruitment firm, where I dealt with several applicants on a daily basis, posting ads, interviewing, endorsing, and training candidates. I also coordinated with different organisations and schools to conduct and participate in job fairs and prepare our company’s marketing paraphernalia. Then, along came an opportunity for me to work remotely. Being the person that I am, who likes taking challenges, I immediately accepted the offer to work remotely, with the condition to work on a graveyard shift.
Surprisingly, I was able to adapt quickly to the new environment. In fairness, I found it more favourable and enjoyable. I was able to gain experience through the accounts that I have handled, from client support, end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, data entry, contract review, auditing, template creation, training, reporting, and scheduling.
I am a fast learner and can do multiple tasks at a time. I work efficiently without requiring any form of supervision. I also believe that the strength of the team is each individual member, so it has been my practice to share what I know would be helpful with my team. Training my colleagues has always been a fulfilling task for me, especially because I have always wanted everyone to have the leader that I always wanted to have when I was starting. Being reliable, detail-oriented, diligent in my work, quick-witted, and having various set of skills and knowledge makes me an excellent Virtual Assistant.
Over the years, I have learned that understanding the culture and environment of the client is important. It is also very important to have a very good attitude at work and ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance to what the client wants and doesn’t want. Accuracy is another thing that would help you in completing tasks because having to redo a job is just as bad as starting from scratch. Everything should come in handy as long as you have the reliability, attitude, skills, and experience.
Working from home is different from being in an office, but I believe that this environment is best for me and my family. This setup has been very helpful to me in fulfilling my duties and responsibilities at home, while providing them what they deserve – the best.
I am to grow further with my career and work with a progressive company that will allow me to utilise my skills and knowledge and enhance my capabilities and would value loyalty and hard work.
