Overview
Marinel Reyes – Sales, Administrative Assistant
Hi! My name is Marinel Padilla Reyes and you can call me ‘Manel’. I’ve completed my bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship last April 2018.
I am the eldest child in the family. Though I am not really treated as the breadwinner, I always find a way to earn and generate my own income. My father would always tell me that it is very important to learn how to live on your own. So, when I was still a kid, I started selling candies in our neighbourhood. When I reached my teenage life, I engaged in online selling. I sell food, clothes, and accessories. That is why I took up Entrepreneurship because I know I have the potential for doing business. When I was still in college, I took care of my own finances like my allowance – and as long as I can finance myself, I avoid asking for money from my parents. I don’t know why but I love to make money on my own.
When I graduated college at 21, I’ve decided to move out. I looked for a job that could sustain my needs. My very first job was in a construction industry business. I was their Sales and Business Development Associate back then. I built sales by contacting new and existing customers. I also had to attract new clients and build solid relationships with them while maintaining existing relationships. Part of my job was also to develop business strategies and identify new business opportunities. To be honest, I learned a lot there. This became my bread and butter when I was still living on my own. I was able to mingle with different types of people and even learned how to be more patient since customer service was part of my task. It’s just that I had to quit because of the pandemic. I could not risk myself going to work every day and exposing myself to the public since I have a baby.
I’ve always dreamed of working in the comforts of my home. Right after I resigned from my previous job, I got hired as a General Virtual Assistant. I learned a lot even after working for a short period of time because my client’s income could not sustain the business anymore. But talking about my tasks there, aside from doing admin tasks like calendar management and making reports, I also gained experience in prospecting and appointment organically and by using a CRM. Cold email, cold calling prospecting and social media outreach was part of my job, too. Good thing my client exposed me to different pieces of training and tools because I know I’m able to use these in my career.
Right now, I am looking for a career that could help me grow and expand my expertise. I love learning and I am also keen to upskill myself by learning new things whenever I get a chance. I always treat and value my clients’ business like its mine.
If you’re looking for a reliable and hardworking VA, you can consider me. Let’s work together to make this the best opportunity for both parties. Looking forward to working for you!
