Mark Joseph Arroyo – Quality Assurance Engineer

mark-arroyo-vaHi, I’m Mark.

People in the office call me Mark, but those who are close to me call me Joseph or Seph. In my family, they call me Mak, my “palayaw”. As with the different names they call me, it also matches my different passions for life.

I am a registered Mechanical Engineer and a computer builder. I am also a guitarist, a marathoner, a cyclist, a mountaineer and video PC gamer. And pretty recently, a husband to my lovable wife.

These passions of mine are always drawn to one simple principle and way of life, that is, to stay curious. Once I manage to put my attention to something that interests me, I will try to know all the specifics — the science, the behavior,
the principles behind it. I am always amazed how many different paths in life a man can take and spend his whole life mastering it and doing it everyday, day in and day out.

Growing up in a happy family with my four siblings, I always enjoyed Sundays as it served as our bonding time with each other. In those moments, we shared our common passion which is music. The influence to play a guitar (to do Rock n’ Roll of course XD) came from our father who was also a guitar player. Back then I wanted to study in a music school since it was my passion, but the family finances won’t allow me to. That is why I enrolled in a public university and finished my studies with a bachelor’s degree.

mark-arroyo-vaAfter graduating and slowly passing into adulthood, I realized that there are so many paths or hobbies or passions that you can take if you are willing to put your heart on it. That at the end of the day, doing the things that you love will bring you the most happiness and joy. Today, I am an engineer and can also play guitar and do all the other stuff I mentioned above.

My advice: Stay curious. Stay happy.
