Mary Grace Badua – General Virtual Assistant

mary-grace-badua-vaHi, I’m Mary Grace, but you can call me Grace. I’m a proud fur mom to my dog, Nala, and I live with my partner. I come from a family of 7 and have a twin, which made growing up a unique experience. We were raised in a rural area, where we grew our own food and took care of chickens and goats—living a simple, peaceful life. Being the eldest, I had to pause my studies to support my family financially. This led me to pursue opportunities in the BPO industry, where I learned the importance of stepping outside my comfort zone. While it was challenging, I found joy in helping people and forming meaningful friendships, even though I’m naturally introverted.

My career journey began as a fraud protection specialist for a US-based bank, where I was responsible for managing client accounts, investigating fraud, and processing reports. After a year, I relocated and took on a customer and technical support role in a telecommunications account. Later, I had the chance to intern in Japan, seeking better opportunities for my family. When I returned home just before the pandemic, freelancing was introduced to me by a friend, and that’s when I shifted focus.

Freelancing came with many challenges. For almost two years, I struggled to find clients due to fierce competition. However, I didn’t give up. I took workshops and seminars to develop my skills, and eventually, I started landing clients.

Working from home has been a blessing for my mental health and productivity. I’ve also discovered that cleaning helps clear my mind and keep me focused. My ultimate goal is to achieve both financial stability and mental freedom. Although it’s not an easy path, with patience, perseverance, and faith, I’m confident I’ll reach my goals.

I love working alone, but I also enjoy collaborating with groups, especially when the people are accommodating and fun to be with. I appreciate following processes, but I also love providing my own thoughts and input. Back when I was in the BPO, I supported my team, and I cherished the trust they placed in me. I also love the sky and the water, as they remind me that life is wide, broad, and infinite.

I’m also into astrology and zodiacs, which help me connect with people on a deeper level. I dream of taking my parents abroad to create core memories, and I hope for a peaceful life.
