Michelle Ann Adarlo – General Virtual Assistant, Lead Generation Analyst
My name is Michelle Ann Adarlo, a 34-year-old wife and mother of three wonderful children. I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, although I completed only up to my third year of college. Despite not finishing my degree, I was determined to apply what I learned and entered the workforce.
I started my career as an inside sales agent in a BPO company. This role allowed me to hone my communication skills, helping me meet monthly targets consistently. My time in the BPO industry taught me to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and build strong client relationships. However, I eventually left the industry to focus on completing my remaining semester.
During this time, I met my husband, and we quickly connected. We decided to get married, and soon after, we welcomed our first child. Two years later, I gave birth to our second daughter, and just 14 months later, we were blessed with our third child. I decided to stay home and care for them full-time.
While being a mother was incredibly rewarding, I felt the desire to pursue something beyond motherhood. I realised that I wanted to re-enter the workforce and be a career woman while continuing to nurture my children. When my eldest turned five, I made the firm decision to return to work, although I struggled with the guilt of leaving my children in the care of a nanny.
I started researching freelancing and virtual assistant opportunities online. I enrolled in several courses to refresh my skills and began submitting job applications. Fortunately, I was offered my first virtual assistant job, and I am incredibly grateful to the clients who believed in my potential despite my lack of direct experience. Their trust motivated me to continue growing in the field.
Today, I am proud to be a virtual assistant. Every day, I strive to improve my skills, balance my professional and personal life, and be a supportive mother. I am thankful for the opportunities I’ve had and look forward to a future where I continue to grow and achieve even more.
