Roberto Callo – Subject Matter Expert, Customer Service

Hi, I am Roberto Callo, you can call me Rob. Currently, I am the father of two little girls. Mara is 4 months old, and Mavih is 4 years old. I was born into a normal family in the Philippines, where, fortunately, we can eat three times a day. We are not rich, but we are just lucky that our parents have jobs to provide for our physiological needs, and that is it. By the time that I finished high school, I decided to be a working student as a part-time waiter at night and a student during the day. I was in my third year of college when I decided to stop and have a full-time job to help my parents financially and support my younger brother, who was taking a criminology course at the time. Thankfully, after 4 years, he graduated and passed the Criminology Board Exam.

I spent 4 years working in the hospitality industry, then switched to the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in 2019. I got my first role in a program based in the US as advanced technical support since I am a tech-savvy person.

After a year of working with that program, we moved house to a different state or city and decided to find work near my house because I was traumatized by spending 2 hours on the road every day just to get to the restaurant where I worked for 4 years. That was the time when I learned about the work-from-home setup. I got a program based in Australia, one of the biggest retailers of gas and electricity. This was the time when I appreciated the benefits of a work-from-home setup. There’s no traffic, no hassle waking up, less time for preparation, more time with the family, and more savings since, unlike working in the office, you need to spend some money on food and transportation. I worked with that program for 2 years, and it was a day of paradise every day, sitting in a chair with a coffee on my table in front of my computer. It does not feel like I am working at that time. It was like a normal day every day. That is the environment we always want.

Now that I’ve been in the customer service industry for 4 years and counting, I’m looking for a part-time job in Australia that will help me grow and help support my family financially.

My main goals are to get a job, help the company grow, help myself grow, and provide for my family’s needs.
