Ronald Codnita – Electrical Engineer, Customer Service

ronald-codnita-vaHello! I am Ronald, applying for the virtual assistant position. If you check my profile, you can see that I have been to different places and different fields. I have worked in construction, manufacturing, designing and BPO.

In all the industries I’ve been, I met different people and nationalities from countries all over the world. I bragged to my peers about the several adventures and the nice distinct folks I run into along the way. Those years were a blast. With that, I am grateful and contented with my career travels. You’ve heard it before but really, having been around makes you realize the old saying, “home is where the heart is”. I love my mid-cold mountain city. Roaming places because of work is a great bonus. I used to have that wanderer mindset, but I am done with all those now. I am happy just viewing the pine trees sway and greeting my neighbors’ wave from my window. And besides, I am inclined to take care of the old, the young in the family and the house itself as well.

Speaking of BPO, I knew when I first got in the industry that it will dominate the future of commerce. BPO started with pure call centers. I remember back in Ortigas and in Makati where there were hundreds of buildings dedicated for call centers. Thousands of agents fill the fast foods and restaurants along those buildings. Thousands more flock the malls and mini parks nearby. Now, BPO has evolved and added more fields like virtual assistance for office works with home-based options. That added millions more to the already multitude of BPO workers. Freelancer sites, VA agencies and more call center companies are popping around metropolis and small cities. Virtual service is unstoppable. It will further grow and diversify then rule over our common business. And this is a good thing for me – a guy who is approaching his late 40s and wanting to just stay safe at home. Everything in our modern lives will lead to the online world. We have to cope with the changes so as not to be left out. In my case, I will adjust to the thriving trend. If there are trainings to undergo, I’ll attend them willingly. If there are activities required for online career growth and skill improvements, I will gladly join them.

ronald-codnita-vaHaving a VA career, for me, is clearly the best choice. Others might be taking this path for the meantime just for the pandemic period. But for me, this is my path beyond this crisis. If given a chance, I will embrace it and give it my best to keep this dream career. There are many advantages like not commuting anymore going to a normal work. How convenient it is to avoid the everyday traffic. Huh.. Aside from that, I will no longer be worrying about preparing clothes to wear. I understand VA’s would be needed to be presentable at times during virtual meetings and the like but not much same as in regular jobs where head-to-shoe grooming is a daily routine. Both traffic and grooming consume time and money. The time that you should be having with your family or few hours you could be finishing few chores. The money that you should be saving to pay the bills.

Again, at this stage, I would love to be stuck at home for obvious good reasons. And if I’ll be able to do that and while earning a living working for your good company, that would be such a blessing. Thank you and God bless!
