Shirley Lorenzo – Senior Process Associate, Executive Secretary to the CEO, Fraud Specialist II
I am Shirley Lorenzo. My friends call me Shaye, and others call me She. I lived in Carmona Cavite, Philippines. I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration, with a Major in Secretarial Education at Pasig Catholic College. We are 3 in the family, and I am the eldest. I am the only one who graduated in college. My father died in 1984, I was too young at that time. I only realised he was gone when I was in college. I cried and realised how important a father was in the family. I missed him so badly!
I am a single mom of 4. Being a single mom is hard since I am raising my children on my own without the support of their father, and I am proud to say my 3 daughters are a Valedictorian and my only son was on the 2nd honors. Their achievements are my motivation in life. I need to be strong because I want the best for them. My eldest daughter Pamela Denise was married, and she has a son named Kieffer Ivenn, who’s 2 years old. She was a successful Virtual Team Leader in a Law Firm in California. My second son Matthew Daniel was a successful online businessman, he affiliates items in TikTok. He has his own family as well and with 1 son named Mattheus Manuel, who’s 7 months old. My third daughter Phoebe Kate is in her 1st year of college taking up Hospitality Management. She loves to eat and cook, especially Korean foods. She wants to be a chef someday. My youngest daughter Princess Chloe is in her Grade 9 now and wants to be an engineer or architect someday. Since I am 51 years old already, I hope and pray I still see them marching soon, find their dream job and later on have their own family.
My work experience was in administrative and clerical functions, sales (Real Estate and Insurance), and BPO industry. My longest job was with JPMorgan Chase & Co., a financial institution for almost 5 years. I was a Fraud Specialist II in the Fraud Prevention Department. We investigate identity theft within customers’ accounts and transactions, reviewing if credit card applications are valid, approving/declining/turned down true fraud credit card applications, assisting customers’ queries/concerns, and doing outbound calls when available to penetrate the volume of the applications. I left Chase because of proximity, and during that time, we were at the peak of the pandemic (Covid).
My previous job was with Tata Consultancy Phils. Inc. for almost 3 years as Senior Process Associate. We do B2B outbound calls to obtain meter readings, obtain point of contacts and safe site access instructions from possible site contacts, appointment setting if needed, email management and customer service – inbound call assisting customers’ queries/concerns. I left the company last June 2024 due to proximity as well. We are on a hybrid set up. We need to go to the office at least 1-2 times a month if needed. I lived in Carmona Cavite and our office is located in Taguig, which is too far from Carmona. I allotted 4-5 hours travel time because of the traffic, too hassle for me!

I decided to look for a permanent Work From Home set up because I can work at the comfort of my home with my kids, less stress from traffic and save money from commuting. I’m interested in this role (VA) because I can see an opportunity for me to learn and grow, whatever skills I may have, so we both would benefit personally, professionally, and financially.
