Tiffany Jane Atienza – Administrative Assistant

tiffany-atienza-vaHi, I’m Tiffany Jane Atienza, you can call me Tiffany or Tintin. I am a single parent. I have 1 son, he is turning 2 years old this coming October 17, 2024. I’m a college undergraduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Management Major in Operations at STI College of Balayan, Batangas, Philippines.

I started looking for a job year 2017, and I was lucky because they hired me as an Administrative Assistant. It’s project-based and contractual. Even if I’m not a college graduate, they gave me a chance to experience this kind of work. I learned that organisation was key in this role. I’ve gained so many skills in this job. My tasks as an admin assistant included managing schedules, answering calls, plan, organising, and schedule company meetings in the office, off-site, and via video conference, handling phone and emails, keeping an inventory of office supplies, and ordering new materials needed. I’m the one who welcomes visitors to the office and site.

I feel so lucky not because of my job but having a healthy work environment helps me feel more motivated and productive. Sometimes I get stressed when I’m having a workload, but I always stay positive because for me having a positive atmosphere can reduce my stress, and I can focus on my tasks so I can finish my job and submit my reports before the deadline. I also learned how to be  methodical when it comes to work.

My manager taught me how to send emails in a professional way. I built my skills through my manager’s support by appreciating my effort and receiving consistent guidance and feedback. Their mentorship helped me to boost my confidence and enhanced my capabilities in my role as their admin assistant. They also taught me how to be a professional when it comes to work.

Well, now I would say that I am committed. I spend time and effort to finish my work. Also, I believe that I am methodical. I love doing things in a systematic way. I love being well organised, and I would say that I am proactive. I’m proud to say that I’ve been a good employee because of their support. When, I make a mistake sometimes at my work, instead of shouting or blaming me, they taught me how to learn from my mistakes.

Now, I have some skills that I use to make a meaningful impact in my next position or job. I am now seeking a work from job because  I mentioned earlier that I’m a single mother. Working from home is the best option for me. It is essential for me to provide the best care for my child while continuing to grow professionally. I want this because I can also look after my child. I don’t want to sugarcoat things; I needed a job to provide our needs specially my son’s needs. I’m looking forward to learning new things and grow my career while gaining valuable experiences that will enrich both my career and my life.
