Maria Concepcion R. Mercado, Dip FP – Paraplanner
Hi there! My name is Macon and I’ve been in the corporate world since 2008, focusing on the financial services industry. I have worked in various roles for both local and multinational companies where I managed to offer a strong track record in delivering tasks accurately, efficiently and timely.
Over the last 5 years, I decided to make a career in the financial planning sector because I get to participate in helping people improve their financial lives and it gives me a deeper purpose. Most people are not blessed financially that’s why I realised they need professionals/financial educators so they can be better stewards of money for themselves and their families and secure their future.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and I also hold a Diploma in Financial Planning (RG 146). I am an associate member of International Marketing Group (IMG) and a graduate member of Registered Financial Planners (RFP®) Philippines. Some of my other certifications include Certified Bookkeeper and Registered Cost Accountant. I am also a Life Licensed Insurance Agent.
As a Financial Paraplanner, I have gained extensive experience in the use of financial planning software such as XPLAN, COIN, AdviserLogic, and Midwinter. My paraplanning services range from Fact Find encoding to SMSF SOA writing. I make research calls, obtain/prepare alteration quotes, and create product comparisons. I’ve also created SOA templates, automated calculators, databases, process manuals, and user guides – tailored to my clients’ preferences. At times, I also train my co-workers with client-specific processes.
In the workplace environment, I am one of those people who tend to get so focused once I start my day to ensure I deliver results not just for turnaround time purposes, but also to ensure I have spare time when my clients want adjustments from my submissions.
But it’s not all work, no play. I also enjoy playing games, having casual conversations, and dining out with my teammates during off-peak seasons.
Outside work, my normal routine includes doing household chores, buying groceries, catching up with family/friends, doing ministry/volunteer work, watching Netflix series, and travelling.
Interesting fact? I have five siblings, from whom I have about two dozen nephews and nieces! 🙂
I look forward to working and learning with you soon!
