Abigail Reyes – General Virtual Assistant

abigail-reyes-vaHello, My name is Abigail Reyes, you can call me Abbie. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Financial Management. I started my corporate career as a branch coordinator and to be honest it is not a unique story that can make you shuffle your feet and lose your seat. My experience as a coordinator made me realize how important coordination works. Being a middleman to branches and Head Office taught me to be attentive in small to big details and catering to sudden concerns.

Fast forward, there was the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and traveling became a problem, my work location is 2 hours away from home. It was hard to go back and forth. I decided to quit my corporate career and make a very risky decision to pursue a home-baking business because personalized cakes and buying online were becoming trendy at the time. I grew up as a multi-passionate person. I love content creation, video editing, baking, designing, crafting, playing saxophone, and many more. I love making money and am serious about my side projects to feel alive and make life more meaningful.

Back in my baking days, I created systems and workflows so that I would not be overwhelmed with tasks like creating content, marketing products through social media, managing orders and messages, baking, designing, photography, checking ingredient stocks, shipping information, etc. I accidentally gained knowledge and experience of being my own Social Media Manager because of this journey. My small business did well at first but there was a decline in sales when the pandemic restriction was lifted.

abigail-reyes-vaOne day, I saw a Facebook post about virtual assistance. I heard different stories of people who work in the corporate world that transitioned to Virtual Assistance. I got inspired since I have a similar experience and I know that pursuing this career means I will put my heart to my client’s business as if it was mine. I know how challenging it is to manage a business, especially in managing your time, I love the idea of working in the comfort of my home and being able to assist business owners with their small and big tasks as I explore this new career challenge. The best teacher is through experience and I have gained valuable insights into client communication, project management, and multitasking. Now, I am ready to apply these skills to practicality.
