Akilyn Tuazon – General Virtual Assistant

akilyn-tuazon-vaI’m Akilyn Tuazon, 37 years old, and a mom of two adorable kids. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in 2008 and started working as a High School Science teacher for two years. After I passed my Licensure Exam, I changed my career path and went on to be an Account Receivables in 2010-2014. This was my 1st call center job experience. I’ve handled multiple clients located in the 50 States of America. I started as a customer billing representative, then became a Subject Matter Expert, a chat support, and later part of the Escalation team.

I used to work on a graveyard shift and studied for my Master’s Degree in the morning. I did it for 2 years and was able to graduate with flying colors. Is it hard? YES, definitely! But I did it! I made it! PASSION is the key. When you have it, then all of the other positive aspects and innate skills that you possess will just come out naturally.

In 2014, I worked as an Accounting Specialist. I’m a billing expert, sales representative, and tech support, and did all other admin tasks.

  • In 2015-2018, I became a Purchase Order Specialist. I validated, acquired, and indexed POs from various Universities, Institutions, and big business companies in the US.
  • In 2018, I became a full-time mom and a part-time ESL teacher. I taught English to foreign students of different nationalities, from all ages.
  • akilyn-tuazon-vaDuring the pre-pandemic times, I helped other moms who had issues in feeding their infants with their own milk. I donated some of my breastmilk and other mom’s milk, so we can save the lives of newborn, premature, and sick babies. It’s a very fulfilling job and it’s free of charge. However, during the pandemic, we lay low due to the strict hospital protocols for accepting human milk donations.
  • In 2021-2022, I started applying for work again and got my 1st WFH job as an Executive Assistant. I did all Admin tasks mainly on creating various claims such as Long-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, and Family Medical Leave.
  • Currently, I’m working as a Credit Repair Specialist. I’m creating dispute letters to CRA and Debt Collectors, FTC reports, and other admin tasks.

I’m also looking for another part-time job so my earnings will help support my sibling’s education. While my full-time job pays will directly go to our house renovation.
