Alexandra Kylington – E-commerce Manager, Virtual Assistant

“Would you like you, if you met you?”

Hi, my name is Alexandra Kylington but you can also call me Alex. I really like asking this question, because it prompts introspection and self-awareness. Me, I would define myself as a curious individual who thrives on exploration and learning. So, here’s a bit about me. In 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Stockholm. Working with people has always been my passion and there’s always something interesting to discover in every human interaction. I speak four languages, Swedish, Greek, English and Spanish, all of them at a native or fluent level. This multilingual ability has not only allowed me to connect with people beyond cultural barriers but has also proven invaluable in various aspects of my personal and professional life.

After completing my degree, I was attracted by the freedom, in many different aspects, with one of them being the freedom of movement. During the pandemic, my partner and I embarked on a new adventure; we purchased an empty van and converted it into our beloved home on wheels. It was a difficult project considering I had never touched a tool in my life, but if there is something I’m known for is my determination to not let anything get into my way and my commitment to finishing what I started.

My desire to explore the world, together with my passion for artmaking, led me to opening my first e-commerce store specializing in home decor. My 5 years of experience in the field have taught me a lot of useful skills and valuable lessons along the way. Some of them include photography, product listing, website operation, content creation, social media marketing, customer service, marketing, and SEO optimization. I’ve done it all and I am proud to say that my Etsy store has continuously received 5-star reviews from clients who not only love my products but also appreciate my excellent customer service and speedy replies.

My decision to work remotely has opened doors to various opportunities over the recent years. I have worked as a Project Administrator for one of Sweden’s biggest translation companies, managing various projects from start to finish. I was honed for my ability to learn instructions quickly and build warm connections with both my teammates and our translators (did I mention how much I enjoy interacting with people?). My positive attitude quickly led to my promotion to a coordinator role, where I was responsible for all direct contact with clients.

Another hat I’ve worn is that of a Virtual Assistant. One project that stands out involved transforming a client’s chaotic workflow into a streamlined system. By setting up a comprehensive workspace in Notion, I brought order to the chaos, making tasks more manageable. My keen eye for detail ensures I capture every nuance of the client’s instructions, guaranteeing results that exceed expectations.

You see, I don’t like fitting into boxes, and I believe this is where I shine the most. I enjoy the autonomy of independent work, yet I also thrive in collaborative settings. While I excel at following instructions, I’m equally adept at embracing creativity and taking initiative when needed. Despite my outgoing nature and love for connecting with people, I find fulfillment in providing support behind the scenes, ensuring your company runs smoothly. This flexibility allows me to navigate the ever-changing landscape of tasks and challenges that come my way.

Over the years, my diverse experiences have equipped me with a versatile skill set, ranging from administrative tasks to customer service, transcription, marketing, and beyond. This background has provided me with the strength to adapt to diverse environments, offering a toolbox filled with valuable experiences to draw upon. Now, I’m eager for the chance to keep growing, to learn even more, and to make a meaningful contribution to your team.
