Allan Villanueva – Customer Service Representative

allan-nicholo-villanueva-vaHello there! My full name is Allan Nicholo Villanueva. My friends call me Allan and, for some reason, my relatives nicknamed me “Kuloy”. I still love them nonetheless. I am living independently in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental with my 2 Shih Tzus, but I grew up in Basay. It’s a small town down south. I have a younger sister and she owns 3 cats – one Persian and two Siamese. Yes, we love animals. We had our struggles but my family lives a happy and simple life.

I graduated from college last 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, major in Human Resource Development Management. Prior to graduation, I had my internship in Teletech. It is one of the BPO companies here in Dumaguete City. I worked as part of the recruitment team back then. Frankly speaking, I had no plans of working in a call center before but during my experience as an intern in the recruitment team, I have noticed the diversity and authenticity of every applicant and it opened my eyes to how the BPO Industry can be an opportunity to all regardless of gender, beliefs, and culture. Moreover, the salary rate is way better than working somewhere else. With those two combined, I finally realized that this is where I need to be.

My first call center experience right after my graduation was with SPi CRM. I worked as a Customer Service Representative for Western Union Money Transfer. I helped customers in sending and receiving money. Since it was my first call center experience, there were a lot of adjustments. I had to sleep during the day and I had to increase my caffeine intake just to stay awake while I work at night. Not that I am complaining, I am actually enjoying it because I got to learn a lot of cool things about how vast customer service has become. I stayed with SPi CRM for almost 2 years and got promoted to Tier 3 Agent. It was a fun experience. It’s a fast-paced environment but, as time went by, I didn’t feel like I was working anymore. That’s when I discovered my passion to help others and aside from that, I am also well-compensated and I got to meet a lot of good friends as well.

allan-nicholo-villanueva-vaAfter SPi CRM, I applied to SOPHI Inc. where I got the role of Technical Support Agent for different booking software like Peek Travel, RocketMiles, and Chownow. I talk to not only customers but business owners and couriers too which made me quite diverse in talking to people of different viewpoints. My clients with SOPHI Inc. not only allowed me to help customers through calls but through chats and emails as well. I spent 3 happy years with them until I decided to step up a bit and see what else is out there.

Working from home has certainly become a trend especially during this pandemic and I want to know what it feels like to be in this new venture. I don’t look like one but I am still 25 years old. I am just starting out as a Virtual Assistant. Having said that, I am currently working part-time as an Appointment Setter for TraverConnect where we partner with different car dealerships for brands like Chevrolet, Ford, Porsche, Hyundai, and many others. I am observant and I love to assess things before diving in. I am a good team player and a good listener. I really love talking to different people and I have a strong passion to satisfy customers and go the extra mile.

Thank you for reading my story and I hope that we can work together!

God Bless!
