Aubrey Valencia – General Virtual Assistant

aubrey-valencia-vaHello, I’m Aubrey! A humble citizen of this lovely world, guardian of 3 small dogs, and an introvert.

I graduated from STI College-Calamba, with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, batch 2010.

I worked with companies from different industries before becoming a virtual assistant. All of my roles have been very rewarding and have taught me a lot of things that honed me to become versatile and adaptable to different processes. My early 20s is admittedly a confusing phase in my career as I thought I was lost, never knowing that this is already my training that led me to a career that I actually enjoy!
When I started my journey as a virtual assistant, the very first client assigned to me was a re-homing shelter in the Northern Territory, AU. My job is to update their WordPress website, upload and delete the animals for fostering and adoption, and create the monthly newsletter using Mailchimp. The contract continued for 2 years and ended when the client’s system has been updated to automate the uploads from their CRM to the website. From then on, I have handled clients from real estate sales, car wash/detailer, and a small project with a photography company. I am proud to say that one of my clients has entrusted me well, that he availed some other services in the agency that I worked at as he is impressed with my work ethic, I came to know this as my team leader made me aware and appreciated my hard work.

Being a VA lets me explore my creativity through the creation of graphics, mostly for social media postings and other graphics tasks assigned by the clients by using Canva or basic Photoshop. I’m also able to learn about different software applications and discover websites depending on the client’s needs.

aubrey-valencia-vaGenerally speaking, I like the flexibility of being a VA. I can say that I am a jack of all trades, which at first, I thought was a bad thing, but later on, I realised that I love the randomness in me and that part of me is a little win that I should celebrate.

I enjoyed learning new things, even starting from zero. Knowing that I’m able to learn new things has given me a sense of accomplishment especially when I know that the client is satisfied with my work. Such client appreciation has given me more confidence and has continued to inspire me to do a great job.
I have always worked on-site and never in my wildest imagination I will have the opportunity to work from home due to the pandemic. The work-from-home lifestyle suits me well being an introvert. Although that didn’t stop me from meeting new people which I also enjoy. Working from home is also a great way to prove my integrity as a remote worker by maintaining discipline and respect for the confidentiality of the jobs entrusted to me.
One of my goals in life is to save enough money to buy my very own house as my family and I have been renting all our lives. I want to finally have our own space to settle and become financially stable enough to help organisations of my choice like animal shelters and to sponsor a child through World Vision one day. These things would certainly fulfill my heart as a humanist.
