Bernadith Teng – Administrative Assistant

bernadith-teng-vaHi, pleased to introduce myself. I’m Bernadith C. Teng, but you can also call me Burnz for short.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Service major in International Trade from Lyceum of the Philippines University. I was an active member of different organisations, became a Student Council Treasurer and a scholar from being a Dean’s Lister Student.

My first job was in sales and marketing field as an Account Executive for events. I won’t deny that it was a very challenging job since I considered myself a timid person back then. The industry however made me gain courage and confidence that I never knew I had in me.

The next step I made was to enter the banking industry. I’m a former banker with almost 10 years of experience in branch banking. During those times, I got to encounter different people with different personalities where I needed to approach them in ways according to their characters. I was able to gain their trust and was able to build good relationships with them through the years. Furthermore, my job entailed me to handle the people under me, and I always treated them fairly. Apparently, being in the banking industry wasn’t easy considering the everyday risk I was exposed to, but at the end of the day, I always felt fulfilled to be of service to my customers and I’m certain that my heart belongs to this industry.

bernadith-teng-vaI live by the principle that “Every problem has a solution”. Anything can be learned, as long as you are open to embrace and understand the job you’re in.

In 2020, I had to make one of the biggest decisions to leave my work in the bank during the Pandemic. Considering the position and rank (Branch Control Officer / Assistant Manager) I had with banking, it was indeed hard to leave my work and to leave my clients as well. However, pursuing my career with banking could also mean risking the life of our 2nd baby as I was pregnant during that time. Eventually, my husband and I decided to prioritise our baby’s health and mine. I was a full housewife for a couple of months and then started trading market stocks to help with our finances.

Knowing this kind of job gives me the opportunity to continue my career at home without risking my family’s health. I am keen to be part of the Virtual Assistant world and be able to impart my professional knowledge, skills and experience to your team. Moreover, I am looking forward to learning more new things. I also guarantee that I will do my job at my best as I will always put my heart into it.

It’s a pleasure sharing my story with you. Thanks and keep safe!
