Daniel Matienzo – Financial Advisor, Administrative Assistant

daniel-matienzo-vaI am Daniel Joseph V. Matienzo from San Jose, Batangas, Philippines. My family and friends call me Josh. I am 25 years old, married and I have one child.

I am an accountant by profession with almost five years of meaningful work experience in many fields of accounting, from Accounts Receivable Staff to Cost Accounting Staff, to Cost Estimator, and eventually promoted to Assistant Business Analyst. I also pursued being a Licensed Financial Advisor last October 2020.

With my professional work experiences, I have acquired different skills that I believe can contribute to your company.

My first job was an Accounts Receivable staff. I prepared monthly reconciliation reports, sorted and organized a pile of transmittals and accounts receivable documents, and prepared appeal letters to PHIC for the outstanding receivable balances. Working as an AR staff honed me to be an organized and detail-oriented person.

I further developed my Microsoft Skills, analytical and problem-solving skills as a Cost Accounting Staff. I arranged monthly cost calculations, conducted monthly inventory counts with the accounting team, prepared dollar and yen account reconciliations, and assisted in system pricing updates.

On the other hand, being a Cost Estimator, tasked me to prepare competitive job quotations, job costing/estimates and prepare efficient and effective work instructions. I enjoyed working in this field because I was able to help the company address production-related problems that I believe are a vital part of a company’s growth. Furthermore, I got to learn email management skills and develop my interpersonal and presentation skills.

daniel-matienzo-vaFortunately enough, I was promoted to Assistant Business Analyst where I was able to be more of a process-oriented person. I helped different departments to resolve their problem on inventory and accounts payable. I had the opportunity to use Nitro PDF and Adobe Acrobat and different ERP systems such as EFI Monarch and Infor Syteline. Working as an Assistant Business Analyst further enhanced my decision-making skills and leadership skills especially when I’m working on special projects.

As a side hustle, I pursued to be a financial advisor last October 2020 in one of the leading insurance companies in the Philippines. Being a Licensed Financial Advisor was more than just a job to me because I was able to help many Filipino families be financially secured and independent. I used various online platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Skype to meet my clients, conduct financial planning sessions and address their concerns.

I then decided to let go of my work as an Assistant Business Analyst due to safety issues and the reduced work hours that my salary wasn’t enough to compensate for all the additional costs of transportation. And now, as the world is changing I’d like to take this opportunity to adapt and move forward. I believe that being a virtual assistant is a good step towards that growth.

I look forward to working with you soon and contributing the skills and expertise I gained from my previous work experiences. I am also very open to entertaining and learning new experiences. Rest assured that I will do my best to help you and your company achieve your goals.

God Bless and more power!
