Danzka Mari Pilar Deoma – General Virtual Assistant, Technical Support

Hi, I am Danzka Mari Pilar Deoma, and you can call me Didi. I am the mother of one lovely boy. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Bacolod City College.

I started working as an ESL teacher for 6 months, handling preschoolers, graders, and high schoolers. I had to leave due to a health issue, and it was not an easy decision since I have regular students whom I’ve grown to love and were looking for me when I left the company.

After a month of resting, I ventured into the BPO world and landed as technical support on a Telco account, which I only lasted for 4 months as I was not fully ready for the pressure that I had to deal with. Then I tried applying in private schools as a preschool teacher, but luck was not on my side at that time.

Due to a lack of support and resources, I applied again to one of the BPO companies in our city to support my needs, as I felt like I had no other choice. I applied as a customer service representative. My role was to help customers if they want a cancellation, refund, or technical support with their order by creating a ticket. As one of the top performers, I consistently met the monthly goal for consecutive months, particularly in the area of customer retention, which measures how well our products retain existing customers. My supervisor noticed my performance and encouraged me to apply as a quality assurance specialist, and I luckily got the post. I lasted 5 years in total with the same company, 1 year as a customer service representative, and 4 years and 4 years as a quality specialist.

Unfortunately, our client did not renew their contract with my employer, which led me to end my journey after five years as it had a huge effect on my salary. It’s also about time for me to venture into the freelancing world, expanding my horizons, and growing professionally. I know that this environment is best for me and my family, especially for my son, so I can and will be present witnessing all his milestones in life.

I am excited to embark on this new journey and aim to grow further with my career and learn more skills and knowledge along the way to better myself and apply them to both my work and life.
