Marvin Lim – General Virtual Assistant

Hi! My name is Marvin Escuadro Lim. I am 31 years old, and I’m living in Teresa Rizal, Philippines. I’m a father of a 1 year old baby boy, and he’s one of the greatest gifts that I ever had. I’ve been working in customer service and technical support for 7 years now. It’s not an easy road for me from the start because I also started from scratch. I didn’t have any idea at first on how to become a customer service representative. So, what I did is I tried so many companies to gain experience and knowledge about their hiring process. Until one day, I successfully passed an interview and also their assessment. As time goes by, I become more familiar with the process and tools. My first company was a Telco company in the USA. We are handling mobile service if you’re familiar with OBAMA phones. It’s like a free phone service provided by the government. What we are doing is we are assisting them for any billing and technical concern. Second company is handling mobile phones, tablets, and other hand carry devices. Customers are calling in to ask for assistance regarding technical issues with their device. Then the 3rd one is an internet service provider in Australia, which is NBN. Same thing: receiving inbound calls, creating tickets, Managing Emails coming from the customers, assisting with troubleshooting, and some billing issues. Now the reason why I left is because I’m looking for more opportunities, and I would like to get out of my comfort zone. I’m challenging myself to work in a new environment and new career path. I’m really sure that my skills, knowledge, and experience are well-fitted in this industry. I would really like to help clients or customers who do need help or assistance so that we can make their tasks or jobs much easier for them. I know that this is a stepping stone for me, but I am always willing to learn new things, gain new knowledge, and also adapt using new tools for the client. I know that life is not easy for me, but someday I can see that I will become a successful Virtual Assistant and I will do my best to be successful.
