Marycarl Banal – Real Estate VA, Customer Service Representative

Hi there! My name is Marycarl Banal and I’m from the beautiful place of Baguio City. In my free time, I love singing my heart out, watching movies, and exploring new places through travel. I’m also a proud mom of 4 kiddos – my eldest is a boy and the rest are sweet little girls. I wasn’t able to graduate from college because I got pregnant early, but it doesn’t define who I am or my future. I’ve learned that everyone makes mistakes, but we also have the power to learn and grow from them. I believe that one mistake doesn’t hold you back, we all deserve a second chance to show what we’re truly capable of.

I started working as a telemarketer for a small but amazing company. I’ve learned so much about sales and have had a blast working alongside my team. Our job involves calling customers to offer them our top-notch cleaning services. It can be quite challenging since our company is still growing, but it’s rewarding to introduce people in the USA to our awesome cleaning company. Unfortunately, the company had to close due to financial reasons. I work as an Online Tutor and my role is to teach Chinese people how to speak English. It was initially challenging to communicate with them since most of them weren’t familiar with the language. However, I didn’t let that discourage me and I found ways to connect with them. I’m so happy I did because now I genuinely enjoy teaching my students. While I love my job, I realised the salary wasn’t enough for my family’s needs. So, I recently applied for a position at a BPO company. I’ve been working as a Customer Service Representative for 3 years and I love helping customers and making sure they’re happy with our service. As a sales representative, I also assist customers with planning and booking reservations. I pride myself on answering calls and addressing any inquiries or concerns in a friendly and satisfactory manner.

So, as you know, Covid-19 has drastically changed our daily lives and we’re stuck at home. Fortunately, my husband is a Virtual Assistant and he introduced me to his client. That’s how I started working as a Virtual Assistant and learned all about it! For almost 2 years, I served as a Virtual Assistant where I gained expertise in database management, appointment setting, and social media marketing. I have the confidence and passion to succeed in this field and I truly enjoy interacting and connecting with people. I’ve always been commended for my strong work ethic and effectiveness. I learned that It’s not just about grammar and making sentences sound better, it’s also about having the opportunity to speak and be heard. I am truly passionate about my profession.
