Fadare Opeyemi – General Virtual Assistant

opeyemi-fadare-vaHello, My name is Fadare Opeyemi. I am the second child of a family of 4. My nickname is Adman because I love anything concerning advertising that is why I choose to study a related course in school. I graduated from the Polytechnic of Ibadan as a National Diploma holder, where I studied Mass Communication In Nigeria.

Also, after my graduation, I started working in an organisation as a customer service agent, where I managed new orders and exchanges and coordinated delivery for customers. Which serves as my first-ever experience in managing customers.

Furthermore, I left as a result of health-related issues; that’s why I started looking for online jobs to ease myself. Fortunately, a friend of mine introduced me to a platform called Opera News Nigeria.

So I started working for them as a content writer, where I write articles on different niches such as entertainment, health, sports, etc. As time went on, I got tired of low payments as a result of wanting more.

I decided to enrol myself in a course as a Customer Service Representative, which will prepare and equip me with the required skill set needed in the job market. Before that time I was engaged in self-learning on YouTube and enrolled in free courses where I learned website design.

However, I got two different gigs as a freelancer, one from an international client, and I helped her design an e-commerce website on Shopify. She’s a fashion designer. It also enhanced my skill set. While working on her project, I got to know how to add payment methods, get a domain, and host her website.

The second gig was from an agency in Malaysia. I helped them design a gaming website with WordPress Elementor, which will be my first ever work on WordPress, and received positive feedback after the project, which took about two weeks.

It was after the gigs I got my certificate and was certified as a Customer Service Representative, I started hunting for more opportunities online, although that is what I always wanted since my health can’t handle physical work anymore.

Lastly, as a curious-minded person, no matter the situation, I always strive to become better and am willing to explore more because I believe there’s light at the end of the tunnel. In the year 2023, I took an international examination popularly known as SAT( Scholastic Aptitude Test), but unfortunately, I did not meet the scholarship score.

I didn’t allow such failure to stop me. In the journey I am learning and unlearning, and I am ready to take up new challenges and opportunities for the future ahead.
