Reynaldo Jr Yunsal – General Virtual Assistant

reynaldo-jr-yunsal-vaMy name is Reynaldo Jr. Yunsal, a father to a six year boy. I graduated from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in Bacolod City with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

From 2016 to 2023, I worked for two government agencies in the Philippines, the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor as an administrative aide and the Municipal Trial Court as a clerk. It felt like I have found my dream job, especially the time when I was working as a clerk. During that time, I said to myself, I am going to hone my craft, be very good at this, and retire here. But as fate would have it, my wife was offered a job in the United Kingdom. It was her lifelong dream to work as a nurse overseas, especially in Europe. As difficult as it is for me, I have to give up my career so that she can pursue her own.

Moving to a different country is challenging; you have to adapt. You have to fine-tune yourself to almost everything: the weather, the food, your surroundings, and so much more. The most difficult adjustment for me is finding a job. It took me more than three months to get my first job. The moment that I got a job and started working, I thought everything would be great and would be the same as it was just like in the Philippines. But it is way harder to juggle child care and career in the UK as I initially thought. Because of this, I tried to find a job that has flexible working hours and is suited for me while taking care of my son, and that’s when I thought of trying out remote jobs.

As I was doing some research online on how and where can I apply for this remote jobs that I am trying to get my hands into, I stumbled upon this website called the Virtual Assistant Team, it offers all the things that I was looking for in a job. And since I have multiple years of experience working as customer service representative and technical support representative at three Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies, combine it with the previous roles that I handled working in an office-based setting, I believe I possess the skills and knowledge and am confident that I can perform the duties and responsibilities of a virtual assistant.

Becoming a Virtual Assistant is a career that I am certainly looking forward to. And I hope this is going to be the start of my journey to becoming one.
