Roly Morallos –  Customer Service Representative

Hi, I’m Roly Uno Morallos, you can call me just by my first name. I am 25 years old and the youngest in our family. I am a College Graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Office Administration in Computer Arts and Technological College, Inc. Legazpi.

After my Graduation, I started working as an Underwriting/Office Staff in the Philippine British Assurance Company, Inc., it is a non-life insurance company and my job responsibilities are to greet and communicate with our clients, answer phone calls and emails, data entry and doing some clerical tasks inside the office. I worked there for 1 year and 5 months and decided to try new opportunities, which can help me improve not only as a person but as a professional.

I decided to enter the BPO Industry and my journey began as Chat/Email Support. As a customer service representative, my job includes answering customer queries, handling complaints, fixing customer complaints, responding promptly in an efficient manner and providing the best and most accurate solution while following the company guidelines. At first, I encountered difficulties in adjusting myself working in a BPO that includes the rotational schedule that is usually following U.K. and U.S. time since the accounts that I am handling is from there.

But as time went by, I enjoyed the working environment, learned to socialize with others, and gained a lot of knowledge and amazing experience that as a customer service representative you should have strong patience and understanding, make sure that you understand their feelings and put yourself in their shoes so you can understand and feel them, with that you can build a relationship and easily to provide the possible solution and make them satisfied with your assistance.

I left my family in the province for almost 3 years as I worked in Metro Manila which is the Capital of the Philippines. At first, I decided to go there because there are a lot of opportunities and competitive pay which means I can support my daily needs and support my family. But later, I realized that I really miss my family and I wanted to be with them while I was working. My family motivates me and makes me work harder and when I think of them it really helps me to think positively and be optimistic.

Working at home is very different from being at an office, but I believe that this environment is best for me and my family. I will be more comfortable working at home and have the work-life balance that a lot of people looking for.

I aim to grow further with my career and learn more skills and knowledge along the way to better myself and apply them to both my work and life.
