Sheila Munah – Executive Assistant

Hi I am Sheila Munah. I am the firstborn in a family of 3 siblings. I graduated with a degree in business administration from a local university here in my country, called the Cooperative University of Kenya. After graduating, my goal was to work in a bank. I always admired how bankers wore nice suits and sat at the teller’s desk. I probably think that’s every girl’s dream who is in the finance field. Unfortunately, that’s not how life works it always has a bigger and much better story planned out.

I started working while still on campus at a Tech company called Techarz just as their customer care representative. It was just a start and that meant that I was the primary contact of all the clients that needed any service done. I enjoyed how I was able to work from the comfort of my hostel room back at school and still have ample time to attend my classes and study.

Having earned skills in client management and coordination I added more skills that could make me more marketable in the online space. This is when I enrolled in an online course for Virtual assistants in ALX and I got to learn about calendar management, correspondence handling, and research, online collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Slack.

Over the years, I have learned that it is important to be disciplined, very reliable and adaptable when working in an online space and environment. I also know the value of collaborating with my team members and clients to ensure that all the goals are achievable and on time.

I aim to grow further with my career and learn more skills and knowledge along the way to better myself and apply them to both my work and life.
