Agnes Lascuna – Social Media Manager, Virtual Assistant
Hi, I am Agnes Lascuna, a housewife and a dedicated professional. For nine years, I worked as an ESL teacher, helping students, both kids and adults. Learn English through structured lessons. It was a fulfilling job, but over time, I realised that I needed to transition into something more challenging, something that would push me beyond my comfort zone. That was when I decided to become a virtual assistant.
At first, I thought the shift would be simple. After all, I had experience teaching, managing lessons, and dealing with different personalities. However, I quickly discovered that being a virtual assistant was a whole new world, one that demanded a broader skill set and a higher level of adaptability. Unlike ESL teaching, where you follow a set curriculum, being a VA meant handling various tasks that changed daily.
I had to learn email automation, social media management, Facebook ads, video editing, and even scheduling for clients. The learning curve was steep, and there were moments when I felt overwhelmed. There were times when I made mistakes, big and small, and even got scolded by clients. But instead of letting it discourage me, I took it as part of my growth. Every bit of feedback, whether harsh or constructive, became a lesson that helped me improve.
One particular experience stands out. I was handling a client’s email automation, and I made an error that led to a batch of emails being sent at the wrong time. The client was upset, and I felt terrible. But instead of dwelling on my mistake, I took responsibility and found a way to fix it. I stayed up late researching better methods, watching tutorials, and practising until I got it right. The next time I handled email automation, everything went smoothly. That moment taught me resilience and the importance of continuous learning.
Despite the challenges, I remain positive. Every task I complete, every skill I acquire, and every challenge I overcome make me a better professional. I have improved my communication skills, mastered new tools, and become more organised in handling tasks.
Now, I am more excited than ever to become part of a dynamic team where I can apply my skills, contribute meaningfully, and continue growing. I look forward to the opportunities ahead and the chance to work with amazing clients. This journey as a virtual assistant is just beginning, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!
