Janice Budadong – General Virtual Assistant

janice-budadong-vaHi, my name is Janice Budadong but my friends love to call me Nice. I’m 30 years old and I’m single. I belong to a big family of seven. I finished my Bachelor’s degree in Biology last 2015 at San Pedro College of Davao.

I once dreamed of entering the College of Medicine and becoming the first Doctor of the family but
unfortunately, due to financial problems my parents had encountered, I was left with no choice but to start working and help my family out. Since then I’ve been working hard and living independently.

I started my career as a professional medical sales representative and got hired by a Distribution Company as a Medical Promotion Specialist promoting brands of a British Company to healthcare professionals, organising small group discussions, and maintaining the
high demand for the products.

After more than a year, I got a better job opportunity in another Pharmaceutical company where I stayed for 6 years. There, I gained in-depth knowledge of sales planning, negotiations, analysing of sales data, and territory management. Aside from that, I also arranged meetings with healthcare professionals, organized product presentations, and created and implemented
marketing activities. We also did administrative reports weekly where I became computer and tech-savvy, learning to navigate Microsoft applications, google operations, google mail, outlook, and web research.

janice-budadong-vaDuring the pandemic, we began working remotely. The transition from field work to working from home was difficult at first but I got used to it easily. My daily task was to follow up on bookings, answer inquiries from our trade partners, call different drugstores to ensure product availability, organise webinars, and do some administrative reports.

I started my Virtual Assistant career in 2022 when a friend of mine introduced me to the virtual assistant world. I started as a medical scribe, assisting patients with appointment scheduling, verifying patient’s insurance, and patient’s data management. Through this experience, I learned the importance of patient confidentiality and accuracy in healthcare information dissemination. The very challenging part for me as a newbie was working graveyard but it didn’t take that long for me to adjust with my working schedule.

Over the years, I’ve been working independently and with minimal supervision. I learned the importance of integrity, and building respect, and trust from the people you work with. I become more resourceful, highly organised, and keen on details, and can manage my time properly which makes me an effective Virtual Assistant.

I believe that working as a full-time virtual assistant will help me gain valuable experiences and unlock more skill sets that I need to grow my career.
