Kareen Joy Saloria – Administrative Assistant

kareen-saloria-vaHi, my name is Kareen. I am a devoted wife and mother of a vibrant two-year-old boy.
Ever since I was young, I have had big dreams for myself. I pursued my education with tenacity and passion, knowing that it would unlock a brighter future for myself and my family.

During my last two years in college, I worked as a general transcriptionist to augment my tuition fees. After finishing my degree in Political Science, I worked as a technical writer for an engineering firm. Later, I landed a great opportunity at a non-profit organization where I worked as a Regional Coordinator/Operations Manager for their regional branch. This organization helps victims of human trafficking, trains stakeholders and front-line agencies, and conducts community and school campaigns to help end human trafficking in vulnerable communities in the Philippines. Due to my dedication and passion for my work, I was promoted to the position of National Coordinator for Partnership and Movement Building. In this role, I became proficient with project management tools and successfully led our national and regional teams in every stage of program implementation. I also undertook day-to-day program management, documented progress, and prepared financial and progress reports as required by the top management and donor reporting systems. Additionally, I coordinated with local and national influencers in the Philippines to help in our advocacy campaigns and boost our fundraising efforts.

kareen-saloria-vaAfter five years of building my professional career, I felt a renewed calling to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a lawyer. I was accepted into a top law school in the country and spent the next five years working hard to earn my Juris Doctor degree while working full-time. Despite the challenges, including becoming a devoted wife and a first-time mother, I persevered and will be graduating with flying colors in June this year.

This year, I plan to pursue home-based jobs and build my freelance career. Although I do not have direct experience as a virtual assistant, I believe that my education and professional experiences have equipped me with the transferable skills necessary to excel in any VA role. I have also spent the past three months educating myself by joining paid VA training, watching free video tutorials, and practicing my newly learned hard and soft skills to become a valuable and top-notch virtual assistant in this highly competitive profession.

My determination and resilience in pursuing my education despite challenges demonstrate my strong work ethic and dedication to achieving my goals. These qualities are highly valuable in a virtual assistant who must be proactive, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality work.
I am excited to see what the future holds and look forward to the opportunity to work, grow, and contribute to my client’s success.
