Myris Ricardo – Technical Support Representative

myris-janine-ricardo-vaHi! My name is Myris Janine Ricardo but everyone calls me Jaja – that’s my pet name.

When I graduated in 2015, I thought it would be easy for me to get a job because I have a degree. I started sending my resumes a month prior to my graduation. I’ve lost count of how many emails I sent to companies looking for new employees to hire. I received some invitations for an Interview but since I am a fresh graduate, I got rejected because I have no working experience.

I remember the first time I landed my first job in a BPO company. I was very happy when I started my training. I worked as customer service representative and my task was to take calls every day. For 8 hours, I had to stay on the phone answering so many questions from our clients and take notes. My customer was based in the United States and English is not my native language – I know how to speak it but I was not very fluent during that time. The first time I answered the phone, I got an irate customer cursing at me, and I was shocked and suddenly didn’t speak as my mind froze at that moment. The client on the line kept talking in a loud voice. And guess what? I cried and asked help from my supervisor. That’s how I started my journey in the BPO industry.

myris-janine-ricardo-vaI now have almost 6 years of experience in BPO industry. I handle different customers. I became a Sales Representative, Technical Support, and Financial Specialist. I learned a lot of skills like phone support, email support, B2B, and marketing sales. I am the type of person that people can easily get along with. I am also a fast learner and hardworking person. Being the breadwinner of the family was not an easy role. I am currently living with my parents and four siblings and I am the eldest so I have to work hard to help them bring food to our table, pay our bills and support my sister in her school.

At the start of the pandemic, many people lost their jobs, including me. But that did not stop me from looking for another job. I got interested in home-based jobs and watched video tutorials on YouTube. I also checked some applications that the virtual assistants have used for their work. I do have previous experience working with a client – I mostly did research and paperwork.

I may be new to this industry but who knows what this newbie can do? I always do my best to provide quality service to my clients to make them happy. I value Integrity and everything that I do to build a good relationship with my client.

Looking forward to working with you!
