Pauline Joy Galsote – Executive and Medical Virtual Assistant

pauline-joy-galsote-vaAre you looking for your VA match? Hi, I’m Pauline Joy Galsote. My family and closest friends call me Pom, which reflects my friendly personality. I finished my Dentistry course at Iloilo Doctors’ College in 2016.

I have over 5 years of work experience, 4 years of which as a Health Virtual Assistant for a US-based client. I have worked for the same doctor and that experience made me appreciate healthcare more than ever. Since then, my goal has been to make a difference to others by making my client’s life easier and making her practice more efficient to serve the patients better. I also understand that working in the medical field could be stressful so I always ensure that my hands are always on deck.

I have a great interest in History. I love watching documentaries about World War I and World War II, understanding why they happened, and hearing stories from different perspectives. Learning history and culture is very important to me and I aim to travel to countries in Asia and hopefully, Europe. I also have an experience in ESL online teaching, which I really enjoyed because I got to talk to people of different nationalities.

Volleyball is my sport, beach volleyball in particular. It only takes around 5-7 minutes on foot from our house to the seashore which makes it very convenient for me to organise plays. Playing the sport became a therapy for me during the Covid-19 outbreak in the Philippines, which helped me get through anxiety. I always believe that a happy VA produces efficient and good work results.

pauline-joy-galsote-vaCooking and homemaking are a few things that I am good at, I grew up with my grandparents who from an early age inculcated the values of resilience, taking initiative, and accountability. I never thought those simple tasks of dishwashing and those afternoon siestas would have a long-lasting impact even up to this day, much more on my work.

My mom is my best friend. She’s the person I look up to, and she’s always there to remind me that in whatever I do, I should give my heart and soul to it.

Looking back, I would’ve loved to work as a dentist but as a single mom, I love that I could spend more time with my son. I would also like to get that work-life balance without working a graveyard shift and with that, I am looking forward to working and making a difference with an Aussie client like you. 🙂
