Shaliemar Parame – Administrative Assistant

Hi, I am Shaliemar Parame from the Philippines. I grew up in a family of three so basically, I am an only child, but life has not given us a very comfortable life because sometimes or should I say most of the time we struggle with financial problems and how to pay for our bills and buy our necessities.

Then came the year 2020, which I can say is really a hard one for us because both my parents lost a job because of this pandemic, and I struggle to find a job given that I also gave birth to a baby girl at a very young age.

Being a mom didn’t stop me from looking for a job to support the needs of my family because I’m used to supporting and helping my parents with their financial needs. Since I was 15 years old, I had to take a part time job while still studying high school to support my needs in school up until I was in first year of college. I worked as an assistant to the Manager of the Marketing Company in Cebu, Philippines, and during Saturdays and Sundays, I worked as a waitress in one of the Catering Services here in the Philippines.

As a waitress, I tend to interact more with customers and give their requests. I’ve met a lot of different types of customers not just with different religions, races but also attitudes and I learned how to deal with them individually if I am just calm.

My last job was being an Admin Assistance in a company in a freelancing world. My job was to hire people and they also let me do, dispatching, load planning, calling technicians, and accounting.

Despite having experience as a Virtual Assistant in the previous company that I worked for, I can still say that I am a newbie in the freelance world because I know that I still have a lot to learn, and a lot to gain. I am very much open to new learnings to grow my abilities and skills to help myself for future purposes and the company that I will work for to its success.
