Sheryly Lorenzo – Virtual Assistance, Customer Service Representative

Hi. I am Sheryly Lorenzo, a 26-year-old mother of one. I started my academic journey pursuing a degree in Travel and Tourism Management at Lyceum of the Philippines University in Manila, but financial challenges made me pause my studies. In 2018, I jumped into the workforce as a call centre agent focused on sales, where I quickly honed my communication skills and customer relationship management.

Within a year, I was promoted to a Quality Analyst position, which deepened my understanding of customer satisfaction and service quality. However, the pandemic prompted me to seek a work-from-home opportunity, and it led me to a second BPO company specialising in e-commerce and food delivery. Unfortunately, I was later compelled to return to an on-site role, which did not align with my preference for remote work.

I then transitioned to a Sales Admin Assistant role, providing essential support to the sales team by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, taking minutes of the meetings, and handling correspondence. I also assisted in preparing sales presentations, proposals, and contracts, while coordinating logistics for meetings and events. My responsibilities included managing customer inquiries, processing orders, and maintaining accurate sales records in the databases.

During this time, I took on a part-time position as a Social Media Manager and Customer Service Representative for an online casino. That project-based contract was short-lived, but it broadened my skills in digital marketing and customer engagement. Yet, I found myself back in an on-site administrative role, which pushed me to seek a more flexible work-from-home setup.

Working from home has been the ideal arrangement for my lifestyle. It allows me to support my family while still being involved in their lives. I love this setup because, aside from being with my family, I can do the things I enjoy while working—like listening to music and being beside my dog. I also enjoy travelling for leisure, so a work-from-home setup is perfect for me because travelling for work and being stuck in traffic is not the kind of travelling I love.

Now, I am eager to transition to a full-time virtual assistant role. I want to leverage my experience in client support and operational efficiency to help clients achieve their goals. I’m diligent, resourceful, and adaptable, ready to take on new challenges while fostering a positive work environment. I am very excited about the possibility of contributing my skills and passion to a dynamic team.
