Sydney Sam Oasay – General Virtual Assistant

sydney-oasay-vaHey, my name is Sydney Sam Oasay, my friends call me Batman or Batsy. Because I want people to think I’m very approachable, I go by the name Batman. I am 26 years old and studied BS Marine Engineering for 3 years. I co-lead the youth group at my church as part of my own life. My job there is to instruct young people about the Bible and teach values. My attitude and demeanour make me an extroverted person; thus, I usually carry this attitude wherever I go and don’t really have any trouble conversing with strangers or speaking in front of large groups.

I was supposed to enter the fourth year, but a failed medical exam prevented me from starting my OJT for a full year. To lose weight, I started attending the gym back in 2019 but soon realized that I needed to start working because I was getting older by the day. I, therefore, began my first job at a BPO firm.

At first, I was very nervous because I am unsure of what my work description will be. However, with sufficient practice and self-confidence, I actually completed my course at the top of my batch. My initial responsibility as a customer service agent was to assist clients with their cell phone invoicing, plans, and services.

Prior to this, I had heard a lot of tales that one of the most difficult jobs in the BPO sector was providing technical assistance. A year after specializing in customer care, our management blended us with technical support, but I easily adjusted. I gained a lot of knowledge while working as a customer service agent. It aided in my professional and personal development since I was able to better understand my clients and learn how to connect and engage with them. In terms of abilities acquired, I’m certain that I’ve gotten more task-sydney-oasay-vaoriented and able to operate under pressure. I also discovered that there is always cooperation and no one in a team, whether it be in this industry or any other work I have had or will have in the future.

Because of the epidemic and the difficulty in getting to work, I asked my professional artist sibling to teach me how to take on commissions so that I could exercise my skills and use them to make ends meet. Practically, this is now how I work from home, which has allowed me to spend more time with my family. With my attitude and experience I want to use this skills to the career I am aiming for.
