Zion Isobal – Administrative Assistant

Hi, my name is Zion Kristoffer Isobal. I go by Zion or Tis, that’s how people close to me call me.

My interests and hobbies revolve around basketball, chess, biking, jogging, dogs and books. I’m a big fan of David Baldacci’s novels as well as those written by Joel Rosenberg, Dan Brown, Robert Ludlum, John Grisham, James Patterson and Khaled Hosseini to name a few. Apart from that, I can just sit in one corner and immerse myself reading on books by Malcolm Gladwell, Stephen Covey and John Maxwell.

Incidentally, when I took the Gallup Strengths Finder at the behest of my former manager, Learner was my number one strength or theme. No wonder, I’m always that type of a person who wants to continuously read, pick up a new skill, a new hobby and a new career.

I believe on the maxim that says the abundance of the mind, the mouth speaks.

Educational Background

In 2014, I earned my degree in Psychology at the University of San Carlos. I would say that the journey to get that diploma was an Odyssey, per se. I’m grateful that in spite of all the things, the challenges, having been orphaned after losing our parents at a very young age, those years being delayed because of financial difficulties and having to crawl myself in college as a working student, made all the efforts, the sacrifices sweeter and trailblazing.

Our family was not born with a silver platter and I hope to inspire my other relatives, that it can be done and achieving it in a reputed institution is within grasp for people who persevere, pray, push forward and are grounded. Getting my college degree will always be one of my biggest life achievements. Succinct to put it, it was a delayed gratification through and through.

Learning is a never-ending process or journey and although I’ve taken a temporary hiatus because of the pandemic, I will be back to complete the remaining 3 subjects and cap off my post-graduate studies with concentration in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

Work Experiences

I have almost 4 years of solid experience in Customer Service from 2006 to 2010 having had the chance to work with Convergys, now Concentrix, for a leading technological giant – Microsoft. In 2010, I left my work to go back to school and completed my undergraduate course.

zion-kristoffer-isobal-vaI have more than 6 years of Human Resource experience, a career I started since 2014 immediately after graduating. Over the years, I have had the pleasure to be part of the different HR facets including sourcing, recruitment & selection, onboarding and administration. I’m adept to different HRIS platforms including TALEO, ABACUS, SAP, ORACLE, Epicor and Sharepoint. My competencies also include being highly proficient in data analysis, stakeholder management, Office & Google suites including mastery in Excel functions and reporting.

Recently, I have entered the world of freelancing as a part-time Virtual Assistant for a real estate campaign. The reason why I went on to find a side hustle stems from my desire to provide a better future for my family and ensure my daughter won’t face the same hardships my wife and I experienced.

Friedrich Nietzsche and Viktor Frankl were renowned for their narratives on the importance of finding one’s purpose and meaning. Well, true to that word, I believe I found mine and will bear almost anything for my core (family), especially for my 2-year old daughter.

Further to that, by becoming a Virtual Assistant, I believe I’m able to position myself as a worker of the future, where work will no longer be constricted in the four corners of the office, rather, aided with the fruits of technological advancements, one will have the freedom to work and be productive anywhere, anytime with the palm of our hands
