Alyssa Louise Vergara – General Virtual Assistant
Hi there! I am Alyssa Louise Vergara, you can call me Aly. I am a Mother, a Wife and a Training Officer all at once. During my spare time, I am also an Athlete – I play volleyball and basketball. I studied in Southville International Schools and colleges where I got a full scholarship since I was a student athlete back then. I took up AB Mass communications.
Being a student athlete have prepared me to become who I am today. It takes so much courage, hard work and perseverance. I would also love to share as to how dedicated I am for me to win in life. Back in my college days, my academic duties would start in the morning. In the afternoon, the physical training I had to attend to for our volleyball training. Lastly at night, I applied for a job in a fast-food chain “Jollibee” (This was my first job ever- I as a cashier part time) My father died when I was 17 and I had to ensure that I am on top of my life as I am the eldest and my family had to relied on me.
Shifting my career from a Fast-food chain crew to being a cashier wasn’t sufficient for our family needs. This is where my BPO career has started. I will forever be grateful to the first company that gave me confidence although I don’t have a BPO experience when I applied, they gave me a wonderful opportunity to become a technical support representative where we had to support computer issues remotely. In total, I’ve worked in the BPO industry for 10 years. I was a Technical Support / Customer service (Email and Phones) for 5 years and have worked my way up in becoming a Training Officer. As a Trainer my main task was to conduct new hire training, topic refreshers, providing feedback to new employees in the organisation, create training portfolios, to update training materials and process related updates. I have also been supporting our quality team in updating SOP’s. I also conduct coaching sessions and help trainees to be successful at what they do in the operations. Being a training officer have sharpened my ability to unlock the potential of my trainees. I believe that this is a life changing career as I have been impacting the lives of other people so I make sure that I go above and beyond at what I do. This job is self-rewarding.
In 2019 where pandemic has started, I had to take a leap of faith into the unknown so I could also unleash my full potential. I had to go out of my comfort zone where I had to leave my office job for a work from home set up career. I thought that this was not for me as I love classroom set up very much. But being very adaptive to change is also one of the values that I am very proud of.
The work from home set up have helped me to provide for my family needs not just with money but also my time spent with them. And I believe that being in the right company where growth and employee appreciation is being fostered, I will always aim to be overdelivered while under promise.
One of the key aspects of my career that I am particularly proud of is my ability to handle irate customers and difficult situations with a high quality of service. I believe in approaching every situation with genuine empathy and understanding, which has helped me build strong relationships with customers/clients and resolve issues effectively Additionally, I consider myself to be an excellent decision maker, always striving to make informed choices that benefit both the clients and their business.
My passion for learning is endless, as I believe that continuous growth and development are essential for professional and personal success. I am committed to delivering consistently high-quality work that contributes to the overall success of the organisation. I believe that feedback and opportunities for improvement are crucial for personal and professional growth, and I am always open to constructive criticism and suggestions. I aim to grow and be better at what I do by investing in training sessions, webinars and watch new skillset that can be an added value for my skills.
