Joanna Lyn Rentuaya – Customer Service Representative

Hi, my name is Joanna Lyn Rentuaya, you can call me JL. I love dogs. I dream of having my own house so I can adopt stray and senior dogs. Currently, I am supporting non-profit organizations that rescue and support animals. I donated the gifts that I received last year as a birthday present (money form) to these organizations. It is not much but I am so proud that I was able to provide something to the voiceless. This is my way of celebrating and thanking God for giving me another year to enjoy.

A few years ago, I enjoyed working in an office-based job. I’ve always loved talking with my colleagues, bosses, and agents. I felt that it was the best setting for me, but not until I tried to venture into the Virtual Assistant world. I started my journey during the peak of the pandemic. A few months into freelancing, I realized that this is better than office-based jobs. I get to provide for myself in the comfort of my home, and the best thing is, I never miss any important occasion.

I started out working as an account associate for a call center based in Davao. Our main goal is to provide satisfactory customer service and at the same time offer an upsell. I’ve been working in the BPO industry since 2014 and during those years, I got the opportunity to work with different accounts. I honed my skills in email management, phone management, chat support, and content moderation. The greatest achievement that I can consider is handling teams and nesting agents. I then decided to apply as a virtual assistant in a real estate company as a property maintenance coordinator.

I am so thankful that I came across that opportunity. It did not take long for me to be promoted to senior property maintenance coordinator. I get to work with awesome people and adapt to additional skills and learnings.

Throughout the years, I learned that the most important thing one should possess in order to succeed is a can-do attitude. Nothing is impossible when you dedicate your time and effort to something.

Working at home, I can say that it gave me a chance to not miss anything in my family and friends’ life. I am very thankful to spend quality time with my family and my pets, while providing their needs at the same time.

My goal is to further my career and learn new sets of skills to improve myself. I am committed to staying in the company for a long time.
