Jule Cabada – Executive Assistant

jule-noel-cabada-vaHello, my name is Jule Noel Cabada, but you may call me Juno. I’m 28 years old, happily married and currently reside in Cebu City, Philippines, with my wife. We do not have kids yet since for the time being, we’re still enjoying our time together.

I’m a bachelor’s degree holder in Hotel and Restaurant Management. This is where I was introduced in customer service. Since I was already exposed to the industry, it was not hard to land a job in the BPO. I started as a chat support representative where I encountered different cultures and personalities that greatly challenged my skills, especially in being patient with them. Yes, I do believe that patience is a skill. This is when I started to accept that this could be my ticket to climb up the corporate ladder.

After that, I tried my shot in the pioneering stage as a social media content moderator where we need to filter out videos before it can be published to social media. Since the account was still in the pioneering stage, I did my best to perform and deliver my tasks well. However, since this job was mentally draining due to the things that I need to see every day, I left the company and tried a different role as a back-office support.

Here I learned and practiced new skills. I started as an email support then moved my way up to become a subject matter expert within months. Doing this wasn’t easy since our client’s expectations were great, and the success of the account depends on how we are performing in our day-to-day tasks. This is where I attained my goal in a leadership position. I was thankful to my clients and superiors that time who believed jule-noel-cabada-vathat I have the capacity and values to become a team leader. Within months I tried my best to learn how to communicate effectively, manage tasks, client relations and liaison.

I felt fulfilled in the role that I was in, then the Corona virus happened, and we were all working from home. That’s were I saw the opportunities in a work at home set up. I was enticed of the convenience and hassle-free working environment. I saved a lot of time, money and effort especially the overall mental health growth that it did to me. I have time to spend more with my love once because of the work life balance that it provides. This is the reason why I gave up the leadership role that I was in even though it was not easy, I believe that this is the set up that I want long term and would make me more productive.

My job goal right now is to advance in the opportunities that work at home set up provides, and along the way, I want to increase my knowledge and abilities in order to become a better person and use them in both my professional and personal life.
