Margaret Floirendo – Administrative Assistant

margaret-floirendo-vaI have been in the BPO industry for almost five years already. It wasn’t smooth to get in though. I have had a few rejections before finally landing a job. The first BPO I worked for was as an outbound sales account. After that, I also handled AT&T U-verse. It was really arduous for me at first because of the limited knowledge I have about how things work in the corporate world. I have been a customer service representative and specialist, technical support real estate data entry, online proctor, you name it!

However, after I resigned from my most recent BPO job, it got me thinking about what I really wanted in this life. I thought to myself, I have been in the BPO industry for several years now but it has not lead me where I wanted to be. I will be forever grateful to this industry for having me around even without a college degree, but I wanted something bigger. I wanted to be happy with what I do and with what I’ll be doing for the rest of my work life. I thought, some things need to change, in fact the only constant thing in this world is change. I want something better.

My future was on my mind lately, like really. I don’t want the time to come when I have the financial capacity to travel and do the things I love- but do not have the health nor the time for it. It has been normalized that in order for you to be successful, you have to work hard. Which is totally agreeable. But why not instead of that, it’s “work smart and have fun at the same time,” or do it alternatively, whichever works. Because we never know what tomorrow brings, might as well be happy and hopeful for better days than live a life full of regret. I once read somewhere that making a big life choice is pretty scary, but what’s even scarier is regret. At this point in life I already have a few regrets, and one of my goals is not to add to it. Or try not to.

margaret-floirendo-vaI am glad that I made it this far. I can say that I may not be where I wanted to be right now, but I am very excited where I am going! As you can see I am adaptable, I love to learn new things, meet new faces! I believe that being a virtual assistant will help me a lot to reach my dreams and goals in life and most importantly, I conclude that good work culture starts with oneself.

So if you’re searching for a VA to aid you in maintaining or creating that work-life balance, (like the famous customer service line goes)- “I’d be more than happy to assist you!”
