Mel Panganiban – Administrative Assistant

mel-alodiah-panganiban-vaGood Morning! I am Mel Alodiah Panganiban and I am hoping that I can be of service to you soon.

It is always a Good Morning because every morning means we celebrate a new life and a new challenge. I always have a mixture of positivity and optimism in all my endeavours. And I do the best that I can to ensure that I give the service that is on par or more than what is expected.

I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Management and was awarded with Honourable Mention. Speaking of awards, I think an award is meant for recognition of one’s achievement and not an indication that every person with an award excel on their specific fields. What matters is the ability of a person to perceive and understand the undertaking and execute such undertaking to lengths to the best of one’s ability.

After I graduated in 2012, I immediately worked as a sales representative of an agency in partnership with UNICEF with the advocacy of helping children. However, circumstances were not on par with the current condition I had then. Hence, I went and explored other opportunities and that is when I fell into the field of finance. I worked as an administrative assistant specialising on the Accounts Receivable division of a domestic agricultural company. This opportunity opened my mind to what extent this division can make and how it relates to other departments of the business. After leaving the company, I became a business manager in the hospitality industry and was responsible for the overall operations and management of the Human Resources, Finance, Sales and Marketing, and Customer Service. This position honed my knowledge and skills into how to handle a business.

mel-alodiah-panganiban-vaAfter having spent some time in the corporate world, I finally decided to become a freelancer so that I can manage my time whenever I want. I started from being an online teacher for Japanese Students to committing to teach accounting to non-accounting students on the side.

As time went by, I realised that I wanted to get back on track to a career path wherein I would be able to enhance my knowledge and skills in every field of business. With this in thought came the start of my virtual assistant journey. I became a virtual assistant specialising in administrative and finance tasks. I have experienced doing administrative support to an executive, bookkeeping with the focus on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliation, and troubleshooting of accounts, doing inbound and outbound calls for customer service and some basic social media marketing and graphic design. I know there is still so much to learn so keep yourself posted because I will surely add new skills and keep on improving the current skills that I have.
