Nikki Guadalupe – Human Resource, Real Estate

nikki-mericarr-guadalupe-vaHi! My name is Nikki Mericarr and I am here to tell you my story.

I am the 2nd of 4 siblings. I used to be a papa’s girl. Unfortunately, my father died before I even graduated from college. He used to work as a school administrator. I’ve witnessed his interactions with other parents, students, business associates, and co-workers. I admired his ability to deal with furious mothers and needy students while still managing to return home and make us feel important and cherished. My mother encouraged me to seek a career in nursing, so I finished Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Universidad de Sta. Isabel, one of the Philippines’ most distinguished universities.

In 1994, I worked for the S.V. More Group of Companies as a Professional Medical Representative. I also worked as Store and Restaurant Manager at two well-known restaurants in our town, Chowking, and Okuya. In addition, I worked as an Administrative Assistant and Tutor at MySpace Homework Learning Center, and a Customer Relations Officer at Suzuki Auto Naga, a motor company. I started working at Jetstar Asia as a Flight Centre Agent in 2014. To gain experience in the call center industry, I worked for two years as a CSR – Service Works Controller for a New Zealand-based firm in Malaysia. I was able to learn about their culture over those two years.

nikki-mericarr-guadalupe-vaI had to return to the Philippines in 2019 to be with my family. To be honest, working in a foreign country and learning about a new culture was fascinating, but nothing will ever compare to working as a mother to my three children, which is the hardest, yet most rewarding, 24/7 job I’ve ever had. After a few years in the office, I found that I effectively communicate and aid others with their concerns, whether physically or digitally. I attempted to work from home to spend more time with my family while also making money and assisting them financially.

In 2018, I worked as a Customer Support Representative for Amazon, and in 2021, I became an Amazon HR Associate. I’ve also been working for a local company as a Real Estate Virtual Assistant since 2018 – during that time, I’ve always been consistent and my manager has always recognized me.

Even after three years with the same firm, I will not close my doors to future career opportunities. I’m constantly eager to learn new things, share my knowledge, and put my abilities and experiences to good use. I constantly remind myself of how well my father spoke and interacted with others, and that I, too, am capable of doing so. Aside from my family as an inspiration, I’ve always found that being consistent, trustworthy, and having a positive attitude has been my most effective weapon in staying on top of all tasks. Thus, I will continue to use these for my future endeavors.
